5 SEO Mistakes You Don’t Know You’re Making
Being knowledgeable in SEO is essential if you are marketing online.

Whether you own your own business or are working for another company, SEO skills can help make you a very successful professional.
There are quite a few good resources online dedicated to SEO, but it is still difficult to become a master. A lot of us are making easily fixable mistakes when we work on SEO for our websites, and that’s what I want to help out with here today. It just takes a little bit of practice and you can take your SEO skills to another level.
Below are 5 of the things I see most frequently that people are doing wrong when it comes to SEO!
No links within your page
One great way to increase the average visit length to your website is to include a healthy amount of links to your own webpage, whether you are selling products or writing articles or any other online service.
This is a great idea because it can increase the length of the online journey for your user, from just looking at your main page to browsing all of the things that you offer.
Also, it’s important not to include too many links! You don’t want to bombard the user. In this case, it’s all about balance.
Wrong target audience
This one is essential. If you are selling woman’s clothing, for example, you need to know which type of woman you are targeting. Is she young and trendy? Is she older and more classical?
Targeting the right audience is essential in SEO, because no matter how great your product is, you need to sell it to the right customer. So, when doing SEO targeting, make sure you keep the end user in mind!
Choose the best keywords for you
It may seem like a great idea to load your website up with high traffic keywords, but unless your site already gets a lot of traffic, you will most likely get pushed off the first page by other websites.
If you just have generic keywords attached to your webpage, you aren’t likely to get the highest quality visitors. The best strategy is to use specific keywords that are also generating traffic, which you have the ability to compete for. Then, you will get more valuable customers visiting your page.
Optimizing on your page
Aside from linking internally on all of your individual pages, there are other things you can do for SEO within your own website. If you neglect to optimize on your page itself, you won’t be able to get the traffic that you need.
If you are trying to generate traffic through a keyword or key phrase, that’s a great idea. But, if you have just stuffed traffic generating words all over your page, that isn’t going to work. Search engines will penalize you if they notice your page is one big buzzword. So again, make sure you have balance!
Unique tags
If you have a multi-page website, you should highlight that fact. Providing different titles and Meta tags for each page on your site is going to improve your SEO for the website. Also, unique titles will make your pages look much better stylistically.
Using unique tags and titles is a great way to generate the right kind of traffic to each page of your site, so you need to be using them!
Wrap-up
SEO is an essential part of online marketing and sales, but people are frequently a little bit confused about how to do it! These are five mistakes that I see most often but can be easily solved. If you are building a business online, make sure that you keep these things in mind so you can generate as much high-quality traffic as you can!
